Thanks to All

Thanks to all of you who wrote about and prayed for my sons, Bob and Bill. Both are much better now, and gradually getting back to normal strength. Unfortunately, Bob still has the excruciating headache that has dogged him relentlessly for the past ten or eleven years. I'm hoping that will be the next problem that gets solved.

Now that the crisis is over, I am back to my painting, and hope to have something to post on my blog, Unblocked Artist, before long. (See the link below.) I am so lucky to be an artist as well as a writer. I love writing, but it is not soothing. When I am painting, no thoughts or answers are required of me--just immersion in the wonders of color and shape. Magically, I can always find my way to the colors I need. I sometimes read things by other artists giving pointers about tones and values, etc., and I realize how little training I have actually had. If I had to think about how to do it, I would be lost. I just look. And look. And look again. Painting makes me happy.

  1. Hi Troy, I am so glad to see that you are back at it. I have a feeling that if anyone was trying to get a pointer from you on color, they would be very frustrated. Ha! Love it! Paula

  2. Troy, what a coincidence!! I thought of you yesterday, and...you're back, which I'm so glad to see.
I've been noticing a lot of coincidences recently; that's just one of them.
A couple of months back, you wrote "The Inconstant Constancy of the Wind", which I thought of as we went to "Street Smart San Diego" yesterday. You were right on the money with that, just as I thought. I'm noticing more Californians are aware of our need to switch over to renewable energy than are Ohioans...or maybe it's just the company I've kept. As someone who has done her own car repairs before, I'm fascinated with the growing interest in electric vehicles, and converting vehicles to electric.
I also wanted to let you know, I remember how lovely your paintings are, so I'm glad you're starting to get back in to that.
I'm not online very much, but when I am, the brightest spots on the Internet are your blogs, and Bobby's. I still have you two, and Bill also, in my prayers--especially I hope Bobby's headaches can be correctly diagnosed and treated once and for all.
Speaking of headaches, I'm feeling a slight one coming on myself.
Hugs & kisses to you all,
    ~VickyLou

  3. Vicky Lou, I just discovered that you had made this comment way back in June. Sorry I never answered and thanked you. It's fun to live in a state where so many people are interested in saving the planet from our own destructiveness. I wish you well.
