Today, I'm Ninety

It is fun to have lasted this long, and to still be healthy and enjoying life. In fact, I enjoy everything much more than I used to. Now that I am painting again, it's exciting to wake up in the morning and get back to what I am working on. Even if I live another twenty years, I will never run out of things I want to do, or find out about, or see. I love my life.

  1. Hello! I'm so happy to see meet you. I am an old friend of Bobby's,from 1969. Actually, I was telling Bobby that I remember you. We went to the park together, with Bobby. You were very pretty and extremely gentle.
My mother lives a few blocks away and she is 94. But,she is not artistic, never has been. She liked to gamble, play bridge and dance. (well, I like to dance!)
I lost contact with Bobby until a few months ago, when I was surfing the net. Needless, to say I was shocked to my core. I only used my computer for writing a book that he happens to be in. In fact I have a chapter called Jameson, which I wrote a few years ago. Then life interrupted my writings for a while. Then, my son happened to buy me a laptop, because I was designated to a long recuperation on my couch and that is how I found Bobby after all these years!
I see you had a site before. Lovely.Y
For fifteen years now,I've lived up here in Oregon, in a smaller town. From then, up until March 2008, I had been active with different causes. So have my two daughters. The town raised enough money for a very nice mission (as we call it) for the homeless. I have many friends here who are artists, and a few, needed from time to time,to stay at the mission. I've been told that it is a pretty good place considering the circumstances. I go to the core of the problem and am on the money raising side. Cause that's what it takes! Anyway I'm happy to see you here on your site! Fabulous! Will look forward to your (as they say) blogs. Paula

  2. Oops the year was 1967, not 69. Bye! Paula

  3. Thanks for your interesting comment. I hope you are continuing with your book--it sounds interesting. So does the fact that you created a mission for the homeless. I have some recent blogs about the homeless--one's a poem. It's something I think about a lot. Check them out if you like. Troy

  4. Hi Troy, I read your writings and then reread them. I'll write to you hopefully tomorrow about them. Lovely writing, I must say! Very good summerization of a situation that each and everyone of us have been through at least once. Bye for now. Paula

  5. Hi, again. I wanted to tell you, but you probably already know about "Just Give.org" They give 35 great ways to help the homeless. I was tempted to plop them all on your site, but I didn't think that would be too cool. But, what I wanted to say was that
your writing, and observations are motivating; and getting people to understand, making them aware. Right to the core! Bobby's "Herman" is ultra special. I didn't say much on his site about it because (as I told him)if I commented on everything as I wish I could I'd be all over his space like a cheap suit. Anyway it's inspiring that you are so up and concerned about so many important subjects. HAVE A GREAT DAY! Paula. P.S. I see that you like birds! Wish I had a good bird story for you. Well, I kind of do. I have bird feeders, especially at this time of the year. There is one bluebird that sits on one perch most of the day and jumps down near my grey cat and eats from his bowl. My cat has never tried to catch Mr. Bluebird. (Yet.)

  6. P.S. Many, many people worked hard to get the mission going. I just went to different busineses and drummed up as much as I could, using every method I could think of,as did many others. Lots of polite rejection. (I hate being rejected.) There were grants given also. But, for your readers, etc. Just Give.org has alot of ideas. Paula

  7. Hi, Paula: Thanks for all your comments. I will definitely go to Just Give.org. Thanks for telling me about it. Yes, I love birds, and dogs, and cats, etc., etc. I love all living things, those I can be friends with and pet and love, and those I have to appreciate at a distance. In fact, I once had a chance to pet a tiger on the head--so I did. A rare circumstance and fun. Troy

  8. Hello, Troy,
Looks like it’s been a month now since your birthday. Well, Happy Belated Birthday, and many, many, many, many, many more!!
Hope all is well with you.
I see that you said you love cats. So do I!! I have three wonderful cats of my own, too. I’ve had them since the day they were born, which may explain the way I light up when I talk about them. Maybe I can tell you more about my "furbabies" some time, if that's OK with you.
Looking over your blog, I see where Bobby got his good looks and talent. You’re both exceptionally brilliant writers.
    Take care,
    ~Vicky
